Goldberg Set To Make Return To WWE
Before Bill Goldberg began his Pro Wrestling career, he earned a scholarship to play for the University of Georgia Bulldogs Football team. He then went on to be drafted in the 1990 NFL Draft to play for the Los Angeles Rams, Sacramento Gold Miners and Atlanta Falcons before suffering a lower abdomen injury, which resulted in his NFL career being cut short.
Goldberg would then start his Pro Wrestling career in Ted Turners’ World Championship Wrestling, where he went undefeated from 1997 to 1998 with a record of 172 wins and 0 losses.
He would hold the WCW Television Championship until vacating it after defeating Hollywood Hogan for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship before losing both his WCW World Heavyweight Championship and undefeated streak to Kevin Nash.
After WCW got bought out by the WWE, Goldberg would make a surprise debut by spearing The Rock at Backlash in 2002, which resulted in having a six-month undefeated streak.
Bill Goldberg would make his final appearence in the WWE in a match against Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 20, with special guest referee “Stone Cold” Steve Austin where Goldberg was victorious.
This past Monday, Paul Heyman issued a challenge to Goldberg, who was asked in an interview on who he would face in the WWE if he would return. His answer would be Brock Lesnar, and this resulted in a potential rematch of Wrestlemania 20 being tossed around.
Bill Goldberg went on to Twitter and announced that he will appear on Monday Night Raw for the first time in 12 years to either accept or decline the challenge for a rematch.
