Cody Rhodes released by WWE

Less than 24 hours after Cody Rhodes announced on twitter that he had asked for his release, the WWE has come to terms with the son of the American Dream Dusty Rhodes.

Rhodes was a special kind of superstar that could make any gimmick work. Everything from Stardust to “Dashing” Cody Rhodes. He will be missed by the fans. The WWE never gave him the push that he deserved and he was well under utilized.

Rhodes is a two time Intercontinental champion and a six time Tag Team Champion with four separate partners. He could have easily been a great World Champion if given the right gimmick and push.

There is no news yet on why he asked for his release. His Brother Goldust is still with the WWE and reports are there are no issues between the two.
