Cowboys Lose Rolando McClain to Suspension
In 11 games last season, McClain had 80 tackles and an interception under his belt. McClain was charged with the same exact offense in 2015, hence the long-term ruling.
This is just the latest blow to Dallas’ defense, as they also are losing defensive ends Randy Gregory and Demarcus Lawrence for also violating the substance abuse policy.
For Lawrence, his appeal was denied on Thursday (according to Todd Archer of ESPN).
In the 2010 draft, McClain saw himself called as the eighth overall pick by the Oakland Raiders. As a veteran, it seems like McClain is starting to spend more time off the field than on it.
The Cowboys already had questions about their defense going into this season, and this could be the dagger that kills their shot in 2015. Will they be able to survive without key pieces to hold their own?
