After being out for three months with a torn meniscus suffered in October, New Orleans Pelicans’ Zion Williamson has made his NBA debut. On Wednesday, the top pick in the 2019 NBA Draft totaled 22 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assist, in a 121-117 Loss to the San Antonio Spurs.
In 33 games last season at Duke, Williamson averaged 22.6 points, 6.9 rebounds, and forced 3.9 turnovers per game. The team advanced to the Elite 8 in March where they eventually lost to Michigan State.
After his performance, the Pelicans will likely ease him slowly into games. The Pelicans currently sit with a record of 17-28.
