After breaking out last season, Yoan Moncada proved that he can be a franchise-caliber type player for the Chicago White Sox. On Thursday, Chicago and Moncada agreed to a new five-year deal worth $65M
In 132 games played, Moncada recorded 25 home runs, 79 RBIs and a .315 batting average. Heading into last season, Moncada had high expectations and did not disappoint.
In December of 2016, Moncada was part of a package deal that allowed the Boston Red Sox to acquire starter Chris Sale. Other players involved in the deal included Michael Kopech, Luis Alexander Basabe and Victor Diaz.
