Yankees Purchase Contract of Kirby Yates

This seems to be one of the more smaller moves the New York Yankees have made. 

This is their first pick up since December 28th of 2015 when they picked up Aroldis Chapman in what was the biggest pick up of their offseason.

Kirby Yates, a 28-year old right handed reliever, has been traded to the team for cash from the Cleveland Indians.  

Yates has pitched in 2 seasons in 2014-2015. He has pitched in 57 total games, 57 innings combined with a 1-2 record and a 5.27 ERA.

He will definitely provide some depth for the Yankees if needed. We can expect him to try and impress in Spring Training and hopefully make a roster spot.
