WWE Fastlane Recap/Results

Rich Swann & Akira Tozawa Vs Brian Kendrick & Noam Dar With Alicia Fox
Result: Rich Swann & Akira Tozawa Win
Rate: 2.5 Out Of 5 Stars
Opinion: This was a fantastic match to get the crowd hyped. The fans really seem to love Tozawa and Swann, but the issue I saw was with the commantary spending most of the time talking about the return of Austin Aries.
On the other hand, it had fast-paced action, and it showed all four men and how great they are at their craft. I really see Tozawa being a champion in the next six months and this was well worth the watch.
Result: Samoa Joe Wins via Cocuna Clutch
Rate: 3.5 Out Of 5 Stars
Opinion: This was the perfect booking, as Joe needed to look dominant, and he did. He controlled nearly the whole match. Zayn got some key spots, so he looks solid, but keeping Joe strong should be top priorty.
I personally loved this opener of the PPV, and am looking forward to his Mania feud, no matter who it is with.
Result: Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows Win & Retain Raw Tag Team Titles
Rate: 2 Out Of 5 Stars
Opinion: For me, this seemed very lackluster. It started off really well, but it was just the same old tag team match. The ending was a cheap way to futher it, after a mess up from the ref. Anderson & Gallows deserve a better push, knowing how they were in NJPW.
But again, no one really wanted to see this match, and I just see a triple threat happening at Mania, which hopefully will be better.
Result: Sasha Banks Wins Via Rollup
Rate: 1 Out Of 5 Stars
Opinion: The piss break match. The crowd appeared dead, and honestly, no one cared. Even the finish was poorly done, as you can see as clear as day that Nia had her right shoulder up. This match just made both women look mediocre, and should of just been on Raw.
Result: Cesaro Wins Via Pop Up Uppercut
Rate: 2.5 Out Of 5 Stars
Opinion: This was a way better match than you would think. Mahal actually looked rather impressive and had a great match with Cesaro, and I think this showed he should get a mid-card push. He looked great until the Rusev distraction, as he ran right into the pop up uppercut.
Result: Big Show Wins Via KO Punch
Rate: 2.5 Out Of 5 Stars
Opinion: This match was extremely fun to watch, as both men got their time to shine. Rusev delivered three straight superkicks and the Big Show kicked out. On the other side, Big Show hit three choke slams and landed the vicious KO punch on an already knocked out Rusev. Both men looked strong, and even though Rusev lost, he still looked elite.
Result: Neville Wins Via Red Arrow & Retains Cruiserweight Title
Rate: 3.5 Out Of 5 Stars
Opinion: In my opinion, this was the best Cruiserweight match since the Cruiserweight classic. It was hard-hitting with some fast-paced action. Those head butts by Gallagher were just brutal, and it left you cringing every time you saw it.
Result: Roman Reigns Wins Via Spear
Rate: 3.5 Out Of 5 Stars
Opinion: This was a remakrable match, but had its issues. The match started full force with impact, but for a few moments, it got very slow. With that, once it picked up, it become must-watch television. Strowman power slamming Reigns through a table, and Strowman attempting a top-rope splash only to miss were a few of the greatest moments of the PPV.
Reigns looked strong, but looked awfully vulnerable. I loved the finish, and I hope on Raw, the Undertaker makes the challenge.
Result: Bayley Wins Via Bayley To Belly & Retains Raw Womens Title
Rate: 3 Out Of 5 Stars
Opinion: This was not their best match, but it was still a wonderful womans bout. There were a lot of exciting moments, until Sasha Banks came out and ended Charlotte’s PPV streak right before Mania. It lacked logic to me, but maybe they have something bigger planned for Charlotte.
Result: Goldberg Wins Via Jackhammer & Wins Universal Title
Rating: N/A
Opinion: It was the same thing from Survivor Series. Owens stayed outside for awhile, and then when the bell rang, Chris Jericho made his return, Goldberg did his finish, and that was it. Owens didn’t get in a single punch.
The only positive is that we get a Jericho promo on Raw, but this show wasn’t as bad as some will say. There were some high and low spots, and I give the overall rating 3.5 stars.
