Wilder vs Joshua is a Fight the WBC Needs

In the past, boxing fans have called for Ali vs Foreman, Tyson vs Holyfield, and Fury vs Klitschko to headline some of the largest main events in the history of the sport. Now that all those fighters have either passed, retired, or been suspended from competition, that is where a potential bout between Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua may become a future reality.
At the moment, Wilder is the current WBC Heavyweight and Continental Americas Heavyweight Champion, as he is riding undefeated on a 38-0 record. With every win coming from KO, with the exception of one, you could very well consider Wilder as the “modern-day” Muhammad Ali.
He is without a doubt one of the best boxers today, but in order to be viewed as the greatest, you have to defeat opponents at the top of the division, and that’s where Anthony Joshua comes in.
Joshua has a few features that Wilder doesn’t, as all of his wins have come via KO. Holding a 20-0 record, Joshua has defeated Klitschko, and also holds the WBC (Super), IBF and IBO Heavyweight titles. If Joshua could somehow get into the ring and defeat Wilder, he’ll seemingly complete the impossible, as this would emerge as one of the most shocking upsets in boxing history.
If a fight between Wilder and Joshua does occur, I’m sure you’ll be on the edge of your seat, as one of these prime fighters would have the ability to mark their largest victory within their legacy.
