If you read social media like a majority of human beings, all the rage is about how the Atlanta Falcons choked in Super Bowl LI and how Tom Brady is the “Greatest Of All Time” with his five Super Bowl rings. Although it is impressive, there is a list of reasons why Tom Brady may not be the “G.O.A.T.”

For starters, Brady isn’t the only player with five championship rings. Charles Haley also has five Super Bowl Rings, two that he won with the 49ers and three that he won with the Cowboys. Although Haley is the only player with 5+ rings, there are 22 people who have five or more Super Bowl rings, whether they be coaches, owners, etc.

Also, let’s not forget that Brady has two unsuccessful Super Bowl appearances, both of which are against the same team, the New York Giants. So Brady has lost the Bowl twice and what makes that fact interesting is that he lost both against Eli Manning, who people often times think of as the less talented Manning.

Even more interesting is that in one of those appearances that Brady lost, the Patriots had gone undefeated throughout the regular season. Looks like the Falcons aren’t the only ones to choke in a Super Bowl as Brady had lead the Pats to a perfect 16-0 record in the regular season, and through the playoffs until the Super Bowl when the Giants defeated Brady for the second time in the Super Bowl.

In closing, while it is impressive what Brady did in Super Bowl LI and the fact that he is still at the top of his game,  Brady is just like every other athlete in the sense that he has had his ups and downs. Although they are better left forgotten to those who consider Brady as the Best Player To Ever Play The Game, facts are something that not even Tom Brady can escape.
