Who Will Coach in Orlando?

The Orlando Magic haven’t been great since the days of Dwight Howard playing as the leader for them.  With the recent release of head coach Jacque Vaughn back in February, the Magic finished the regular season with a record of 25-57 with intern coach James Borrego.
According to Yahoo! Sports Adrian Wojnarowski, the team has been looking into 51 year old Scott Skiles, who you may remember from his days of playing for the Magic in the 90’s. Skiles has gone into coaching gigs such as Phoenix, Chicago and Milwaukee, receiving a reputation of turning bad teams into competitive ones.  Along with every great quality comes a bad one, and for Skiles, his reputation has a lot to do with burning teams out and maybe taking too long of a process.

Skiles has a career regular-season coaching record of 443-433 and 18-24 in the playoffs. He reached the conference semifinals once each in Phoenix and Chicago. Would Skiles be able to turn the Magic into a low seed playoff team? It’s highly unlikely but I’ve seem crazier events take place.

The Magic have one of the youngest squads in the NBA, consisting of players like Victor Oladipo and Elfrid Payton, so Skiles does have the hand to turn this team around.
