Who will be the Top Quarterbacks of the Future? (#5-1) 

Here are the top 5 quarterbacks for the future:

 

 
5. Christian Hackenberg
Who? If you’re not a big college football fan, you probably have no idea who this is, so I’ll fill you in. Hackenberg is going on his junior year at Penn State next year and has put up very good stats so far in his two-year college career. The biggest reason we have him ranked so high as far as the next greatest quarterbacks in the league go isn’t really based on his stats, but more on the pure ability he has shown so far. He still has some maturing to do on the field and has to limit his mental mistakes, but his ability to stand in the pocket and throw the ball is maybe the best we’ve seen since Andrew Luck. In my opinion , he will be the top pick in 2016 and will go on to develop into a top 5 quarterback in the future.  

 

 
4. Jameis Winston                      Winston may have had a down year in his last season with FSU, but there was a very good reason that he was still selected first overall by Tampa Bay, and it’s because he is bursting with potential. Winston compares very well to Big Ben Roethlisberger, as they are both big quarterbacks that have a good pocket presence and can really throw the ball, but also have underrated athleticism. All the reports out of the Tampa Bay camps have been that Winston is a very hard worker, which is also a great sign. It is  looking more like he’s going to be able to put his last season at FSU (on the and off the field) far behind him. Expect him to be a top 5 quarterback in years to come. 

 

 
3. Russell Wilson 
Wilson may not be seen by many as one of the elite quarterbacks right now , but to think he’s not elite because his stats are not up to par with quarterbacks like Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers is ridiculous. Wilson is in a reserved offense that loves to run the ball, which includes Wilson, who was the best rushing quarterback in 2014 with 849 yards and 6 touchdowns. He threw for just 3475 yards and 20 touchdowns, but expect both of these numbers to increase in the years to come when Wilson might have to carry the offense more than he has had to in his first 3 years. He also only threw 7 interceptions in last years regular season, proving himself to be one of the most efficient quarterbacks in the league. Don’t forget also when talking about Wilson, he is the first quarterback to start in back-to-back Superbowls in his first 3 years. 

 

 
2. Aaron Rodgers 
Right now, Aaron Rodgers is the best quarterback in the NFL, coming of his second MVP season in 2014. Although he will be aging soon, he is a phenomenal pocket passer. Rodgers may not be the best quarterback in future years, and will not have the same athleticism he posses now, but he will still be an elite passer and play-caller and a top 2 quarterback in those same years. 

 

 
1. Andrew Luck
The only no-brainer on this list in my opinion, Luck is already among the games top quarterbacks. He threw for 4761 yards and 40 touchdowns in 2014, which if you take away the 16 interceptions he threw, and the poor completion percentage of 61.7%, were maybe the best passing stats in the NFL last year. Luck should get better in the years to come with turnovers and should start completing more of his passes. He will, without a doubt be the best quarterback in the future.
