What Will Super Bowl 50 Tell Us About NFL’s Future?

Each year, hardcore football fans and casual football fans gather around for the Super Bowl, making it one of the biggest events of each and every single year. This year though, the Super Bowl carries what could be a foreshadowing of the future. This year, the Super Bowl could be the final nail in the coffin of the old era, and bring in the new one.

On one side of the league you have two quarterbacks, that have dominated the NFL for the past 10 years or so, going head to head. The great Peyton Manning, versus the polarizing quarterback in Tom Brady. This could potentially be the last time these two go head to head, as rumors of Manning retiring have been picking up pretty rapidly.

On the other side, you have the veteran Carson Palmer taking on the inexperienced Cam Newton, who is only 26 years of age. He has all the makings of being the next quarterback to dominate the NFL for years to come, almost the same way Brady and Manning have. So, assuming the Panthers are able to get past the Cardinals, which would be no easy task, we’d get Newton vs Manning or Brady.

This is where we could find out the answers to some of the future’s questions. Has Cam Newton’s time come? Is the Manning/Brady Era over? Or, will Brady/Manning reassert themselves as still the best and that Newton will just have to wait his turn? Could Manning finally redeem himself in the playoffs and win a Super Bowl ring for the second time of his career, ending the playoff woes that have haunted him for the past 10 years of his career?

Either way, this upcoming Super Bowl will be a battle. This weekend will be a battle between all four teams. All four teams are trying to prove their doubters wrong. Only time will tell how this Super Bowl plays out.
