What Is The Best QB Rivalry Today?

With the retirement of Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning, we will not be seeing the annual match between him and New England Patriots great Tom Brady. This leaves one question, what is the best QB rivalry out right now? There are 4 different options for me, and some are very underrated. Here’s one version of the 4 best rivalries between QBs in today’s NFL:

1. Aaron Rodgers vs. Russell Wilson

Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson have had their amount of playoff bouts, with Wilson winning the majority. They always been neck to neck, starting with the Fail Mary, which gave the Seahawks a game winner in 2013. Then there was another game (NFC Championship) that went to OT to send Seattle to the playoffs, due to a failed onside kick recovery by Green Bay. Rodgers and Wilson is a fun rivalry that could be one to watch for years to come.

2. Tom Brady vs. Andrew Luck

With Peyton Manning gone, Andrew Luck is the only QB close enough to get something with Brady. They have been at it a few times, with all of the games going to Tom in comfortable fashion. In the next few years, this could be one last taste of Manning vs. Brady before Tom takes the high road to retirement. Luck coming back from injury might be just what the Colts need to start a rivalry again with Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. This will be another rivalry to watch to hopefully give us the best we can get out of Peyton leaving and Tom aging.

3. Tony Romo vs. Eli Manning

These divison rivals have been going at it ever since Romo got the starting job in 2006. Unfortunately, we haven’t been getting a huge sight of this rivalry, as Romo has been getting hurt lately with broken collarbones and nerve damage to the back. We haven’t had a good chance to see the capabilities that this rivalry has to explode, especially as they play twice a year in Dallas and New York. Mabye if Romo can stay healthy this year, we can really see what this rivalry is about.

4. Ben Roethlisberger vs. Joe Flacco

Another divison rivalry with two teams led by their respective QBs. They both have super bowls and always win their division. Flacco and Roethlisberger are always in tight competition for the AFC North. It’s always a fun matchup to watch and we are lucky to see it twice a year. Two of the NFLs best in the same division makes some great regular season and playoff battles. This year will hopefully be a good rebound from a 2015 Flacco ACL tear. NFL fans everywhere will be excited about this rivalry sparking back up.
