We Haven’t Seen the End of DeflateGate

I apologize to fans who just want this to be over already (myself included). After Judge Richard Berman nullified Brady’s four-game suspension, the NFL quickly appealed the judge’s decision.

“We are grateful to Judge Berman for hearing this matter, but respectfully disagree with today’s decision,” Goodell said in a statement. “We will appeal today’s ruling in order to uphold the collectively bargained responsibility to protect the integrity of the game. The commissioner’s responsibility to secure the competitive fairness of our game is a paramount principle, and the league and our 32 clubs will continue to pursue a path to that end.”

Judge Berman would comment that commissioner Rodger Goodell went “too far in affirming Tom Brady’s punishment”. This basically meant that the Judge believed Goodell didn’t go about the process the correct way.

The NFL may seek to go about future punishment processes in the near future, most likely by taking away some power from Goodell (but not most).

DeflateGate has been the biggest NFL headline this offseason, and yet we are far from over as we head into the 2015 season on Thursday night. One thing is for sure though, you will see Tom Brady in uniform on Thursday night football.b
