After defeating the St Louis Cardinals, 7-4, the Washington Nationals are heading to the World Series. With Tuesday’s victory, the Nationals will be making the World Series for the first time in franchise history.
Howie Kendrick, 36, was named NLCS MVP. During the series, he went 5-for-15 with four RBI and four runs. As a result, Hendrick became the third-oldest player to ever win the award.
The team will now be waiting on the winner of the ALCS between the Houston Astros and the New York Yankees which Houston is leading 2-1 in the series.
