On Friday morning, the ESPN’s Ariel Helwani reported that former UFC Light Heavyweight champion Vitor Belfort has come out of retirement and signed a deal with ONE Championship.

Belfort is known for his success in the UFC where he defeated Randy Coutore to become the UFC Light Heavyweight Champion. From there, Belfort dropped down to Middleweight to defeat the likes of Dan Henderson, Michael Bisping, Luke Rockhold, Anthony Johnson and Rich Franklin. Within that span, 3 of 5 of those fighters held the Middleweight title.

After spending some time in both the UFC and Strikeforce, Belfort decided to hang up the gloves after his loss to Lyoto Machida at UFC 224. Belfort walked away from the sport with a record of 26-14.
