Over the last seven seasons, Victor Oladipo has already been apart of three NBA franchises. Having started his career with the Orlando Magic, he spent one season with the Oklahoma City Thunder before joining the Indiana Pacers.
He has struggled with injuries, as Oladipo was limited to just 19 games last season. Still, the two-time All-Star has remained engaged with trade rumors. At one point, those rumors altered into speculation that Oladipo was requesting a trade away from the Pacers.
Oladipo clarified those aforementioned reports.
“Growing up, I was always taught not to engage in nonsense,” Oladipo said. “I never have. I never came out and said that I didn’t want to play for the Pacers or be in this organization but, yeah, I’m focused on now. Here and now.”
Oladipo is playing on the final season of his four-year, $84 million rookie extension he inked in 2016. At one point, the Pacers and Boston Celtics were discussing a potential trade that involved both Oladipo and Gordon Hayward.
Last season, the 28-year old averaged 14.5 points and 2.9 assists per game. After being eliminated by the Miami Heat in the first round of the playoffs, the Pacers hired Nate Bjorkgren as their new head coach in replacement of Nate McMillan.
