On Sunday’s game between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Houston Astros, Astros pitcher Justin Verlander completed his third no-hitter of his career. It marked his second against the Blue Jays, as he totaled 13 K through 106 pitches.
Prior to Sunday, Verlander’s previous no-hitters were against the Milwaukee Brewers (2007) and the Blue Jays (2011).
Verlander leads the league this year in strikeouts and innings pitched. This certainly boosts his case for American League Cy Young.
