United States Women Gymnastics Make Statement in Rio

Just 24 hours removed from the team event in which the United States women’s gymnastics team demolished the whole world, two of the team members, Simone Biles and Aly Raisman, competed in the individual all around. Those two shocked the world as Biles took the gold and Aly got silver.
Simone Biles, who must have ice in her veins, was dubbed the greatest gymnast in the world before the games started. Biles has spent the past three years dominating her sport. She has won 15 world championship medals, including 10 gold.
Dynamic on vault, effortless on beam, jaw-dropping on floor, and now, finally an Olympic champion. The 19-year-old American soared to the all-around title, with a total of 62.198, which was well clear of the silver medalist Aly Raisman.
The 22-year-old Aly Raisman, who has had a fantastic Olympic career, ended it all with the silver medal. This is the second time in Olympic history that the same country has taken first and second in this event. The only other time it was done was by the United States in 2008.
