UFC Hall of Famer Involved in Truck Accident.

Earlier on Friday, the UFC reported that Hall of Famer Matt Hughes was involved in a fatal truck accident with a moving train. He was immediately taken to a hospital by an airlift, where Dana White stated the following:

“Apparently he has head trauma,” White said. “His family is traveling to him now.”

Hughes was involved with MMA from 2001-2011 before retiring with a record of 45-9. He holds victories over legendary UFC fighters such as Royce Gracie, BJ Penn and George St-Pierre. Hughes is one of the greatest Welterweight champions in the UFC, as he held the belt from 2001-04, and then again later in the same year until 2006. He competed for a few more years before retiring in 2011, and recently talked about a possibility of returning back to the octagon.
