While the Coronavirus pandemic continues to serve as a common issue worldwide, the sports community has not be immune for the last several weeks. Within the UFC, President Dana White has been forced to alter fight cards and remove the ability for fans to attend.

As April is set to begin, UFC 249 could be under fire. With the country on lockdown, Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov is stuck in Dagestan after a recent travel ban, while contender Tony Ferguson is restricted from traveling outside of the United States.

Regarded as one of the most talked-about cards of the year, the cancellation of a bout between Nurmagomedov and Ferguson has been a running theme. This is the fifth occasion in which the two were scheduled to fight.

With no current announcement released, the UFC may be looking towards a new opponent for Ferguson, or a new main event in general. On Monday, Welterweight contender Jorge Masvidal took the MMA community by surprise with this tweet:

At this time, we are awaiting on a press release from White and the rest of the UFC.
