After months of frustration between Trent Williams and the Washington Redskins, it’s now over. On Saturday, Washington traded Williams to the San Francisco 49ers for 2020 5th round pick and a 2021 3rd round pick. Williams has 1 year left on his current contract.
Since being drafted by Washington in 2010, Williams has been the heart and soul of the offensive line protecting Quarterbacks like Robert Griffin III, Kirk Cousins, Donovan McNabb, Alex Smith and Colt McCoy.
With Joe Stanley expected to retire before the start of the 2020 regular season, San Francisco needed to find a replacement for Stanley and the team found one in Williams.
