Top Jets QB Options For 2016

Seeing that Ryan Fitzpatrick and the New York Jets are a long ways from striking a potential deal, it only seems fair to look into his possible replacements. Here are three of my favorite possibilities for the 2016 season:

3.  Mike Glennon, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Bucs have expressed interest in dealing away Glennon for the right price, yet I don’t see Glennon as a long term answer for the Jets. With two years under his belt in the NFL, Glennon has a TD to INT ratio of about 2:1. With solid statistics and with Glennon only being 26 years old, would the Jets take a chance on him?

2. Geno Smith, New York Jets

Why not stick with the guy on your roster? Instead of going out and paying millions for a new quarterback, the Jets would be smart to choose someone that knows the system well. Even though Geno has proven to be inconsistent and may have a weak arm, all the Jets need to gain 7 to 10 wins is a game manager under center. Don’t sleep on the idea that the Jets may not go and sign a quarterback this offseason for this exact reasoning.

1. Brian Hoyer, Houston Texans

Houston is another team expressing interest in a trade, seeing that they recently added Brock Osweiler. He has a lot of years under his belt, so this option would only be short term for the Jets. With an elite receiving core and a defense that isn’t getting younger, it’s plain to see that the Jets are in Win-Now mode. I believe the Jets will reach out again to the Texans and attempt to deal for Hoyer.
