Top 5 Running Backs for 2015

Running Back is one of the deepest positions in the league and there are just a few guys that couldn’t crack the top 5, but at the same time it would be a crime not to even mention them, so here are your 2015 running back honorable mentions:

Lesean McCoy, Eddie Lacy, Matt Forte, Arian Foster, CJ Anderson, Jeremy Hill

Top 5

5. DeMarco Murray
You can’t ignore Murray’s 2014 campaign where he rushed for a league high 1845 yards and 13 touchdowns while talking about the best running backs coming into the 2015 season. At the same time, Murray is now an Eagle and will no longer be carrying the ball behind a historically great Cowboys offensive line, which depletes his stock just a bit. However,  there is no doubt he is still a top 5 back in the NFL for the upcoming season.

4. Jamaal Charles
Charles suffered through multiple injuries during the 2014 season. Although it affected his play, he still managed over 1000 yards and 9 touchdowns. If Charles is healthy, and as of right now it looks like he is, he’s without a doubt a top 5 running back.

3. Adrian Peterson
Adrian Peterson’s 2014 suspension doesn’t change anything. A year out of football might even prove as valuable rest for the 30 year old Peterson as he gets nearer to the age where most running backs drop off. Peterson is still one of the best to play the game and expect him to be back at it in 2015.

2. Le’Veon Bell
Bells breakout 2014 was no fluke. Although he’s facing a possible 4 game suspension for violating the league’s drug policy, he’s still the 2nd best running back in the league at this point. He rushed for 1361 yards and 8 touchdowns, with 854 receiving yards and 3 receiving touchdowns. Let’s not forget to mention that he’s only 23 years old.
1. Marshawn Lynch
Yes it’s true, “Beast Mode” is the best in the game. He rushed for 1306 yards with 13 touchdowns and helped lead the Seattle Seahawks all the way to the Super Bowl. He’s the most reliable, most durable, most powerful, and most skilled running back in 2015.
