After defeating Anthony Pettis in October, Tony Ferguson has been waiting for the UFC to book him in a fight that leads Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. On Friday, it was reported that Ferguson will face Donald Cerrone in his return to the UFC.
Ferguson is a former interim Lightweight Champion with an eleven-fight win streak. His recent victories include fights against Rafael Dos Anjos, Josh Thomson, Kevin Lee, Edson Barboza, and Pettis. Ferguson took some time off for mental health-related issues.
The fight will take place on June 8th in Chicago at UFC 238.
