The Titans and Marcus Mariota signed a 4 year contract with a fifth year team option, which has now become the new standard for NFL rookie nine days before players report to training camp, the team announced Tuesday.

Mariota was the last unsigned first-round pick from this year’s draft. The sides had been at odds over offset language, which allows a team to recapture guaranteed money if a player is released and signs with another team.

The Titans report to training camp July 30th and have their first practice July 31st. Now Mariota, the No. 2 overall pick and Heisman Trophy winner out of Oregon, can focus on getting a grasp of the Titans’ offense and beating out Zach Mettenberger to be the team’s starting quarterback this upcoming season.
