Whisenhunt led the Arizona Cardinals to the Super Bowl in 2008 and was most recently offensive coordinator for the San Diego Chargers.  The Titans brought him in to turn the tide, however, that has not been the case. Whisenhunt’s Titans teams won a grand total of three games under him in two seasons. He has a coaching record of 48-71.

Mularkey has head coaching experience. He was head coach of the Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars before this. He coached two seasons with the Bills, leading them to 9-7 and 5-11 records. He coached the Jags for one, 2-14 season. He’s been an offensive coordinator for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Miami Dolphins, and Atlanta Falcons. He has a head coaching record of 16-32.
