Tigers to Hire Rich Dubee as Pitching Coach, reports say

Reports have indicated that the Detroit Tigers will hire former Phillies pitching coach Rich Dubee at the same position.   This comes after the Tigers former pitching coach, Jeff Jones, retired after four years as Tigers pitching coach.

Dubee worked with the Florida Marlins from 1998-2001 before beginning a run as the Phillies pitching coach. He was recently hired as a minor league coach for the Atlanta Braves.

Dubee was a pitcher, selected in the 1976 draft by the Kansas City Royals. He finished 45-49 with a 4.07 ERA and twenty-six complete games in six years.

I believe the pitching staff for the Tigers will benefit. Jones pretty muched ruined the team’s staff in his last few years. Dubee comes in having a lot of success, even winning the 2008 World Series, and he should turn the tide in the Motor City.
