After a wild Week 1, we ended up going 1-2 on our bold predictions. Luckily there are 17 more weeks of NFL action, not counting the playoffs. Here are three bold predictions for Week 2:
New Orleans Extends Winning Streak Against Tom Brady in Regular Season
Since joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tom Brady is 0-4 against the New Orleans Saints in the regular season. Every loss has been by nine or more points, including a 38-3 blowout loss. Even though the Buccaneers won last Sunday night against the Dallas Cowboys, the offense didn’t look sharp. The Saints mounted a big fourth quarter comeback behind former Buccaneer Jameis Winston.
Miami Secures Double-Digit Win Over Baltimore
The Miami Dolphins and Baltimore Ravens both won their games by double-digits last weekend. The Ravens took a little while to get going against the New York Jets and still don’t know if JK Dobbins will back to full reps in this week’s game. They will be facing a better Dolphins defense in Week 2. Miami comes in hot with the fastest wide receiver core in all of football. It could pose problems for what is already looking like a banged-up Ravens secondary after already losing Kyle Fuller for the year.
The Bears Beat the Packers On Sunday Night Football
The Chicago Bears got a big surprise win over the San Francisco 49ers last Sunday and the defense looked better than expected. The Green Bay Packers struggled offensively all game and couldn’t stop Justin Jefferson. The Bears don’t have a wide receiver that is the same caliber of Jefferson, but they could have a balanced attack and have a lockdown corner in Jaylon Johnson, who can shadow the returning Allen Lazard. It would force Rodgers to use receivers he doesn’t necessarily trust and forces them to run more often, which Chicago did a good job of stopping against San Francisco in Week 1.
