The Yankees Name Their Closer

On December 28th, 2015, the New York Yankees officially created the Super Bullpen that could rival some of the best in history if all 3 relievers play to their full potential when they landed Aroldis Chapman.
A bullpen that includes Chapman, Andrew Miller, and Dellin Bentances, any of the 3 relivers could serve as a great closer. Andrew Miller excelled last season in the role with 36 saves in 38 opportunities with a 2.04 ERA and 100 strikeouts in 61.2 innings pitched.
Dellin Bentances serves as a dominant set up man having 9 saves in 13 opportunities that came sporadically through out the season, majority when Andrew Miller went down with an injury. He also had a 1.50 ERA with 131 strikeouts in 84 innings pitched.
The Yankees manager Joe Girardi has chosen his mam to close games in the Bronx: Aroldis Chapman. While things can change by if there is a suspension, that’s the way he’s going to go right know. There was no wrong direction he could have gone though. Aroldis Chapman had 33 saves last season in 36 opportunity for the Reds with a 1.63 ERA and 116 strike outs in 66.1 innings pitched and he should excel in his role in the Bronx.
