It’s official. With a 30-2 vote, the NFL has approved the St. Louis Rams‘ request to relocate to Los Angeles. It’ll be the first time that the NFL has had a team in LA since 1994.

This is a great day, but let’s not forget the city of St. Louis. They spent 21 years putting their hearts and souls into this team. They witnessed a Super Bowl victory, a bunch of mediocre years, and even a 1-15 season. They’ve been loyal to this Rams team. Former wide receiver Nate Burleson said it best in my opinion. “They feel like their heart is being ripped from them right now,” he said on NFL Network Tuesday. It’s a sad fact that is being overlooked.

The Rams, in 49 seasons in Los Angeles (1946-94), went 364-299-18. That .549 win pct was 7th-best in the league over that span. Can the Rams replicate that success? Maybe. The San Diego Chargers do have an option of joining the Rams in Inglewood, California. They will have one year to decide if they will move or not. They can even move to LA for the 2016 season. The Raiders, once the Chargers make their choice, will also have a year to decide if they will move to LA.
