The Fallout From Eva Marie Suspension.

Just one day removed from the company suspending Paige and Alberto Del Rio for 30 days due to the both of them violating the company’s wellness policy, WWE today has suspended diva Eva Marie for 30 days for violating the company’s wellness policy. Marie was scheduled to compete at SummerSlam in a 6 diva tag team match.
Marie has had multiple stints with the company, being on the main roster and sent down to developmental multiple times. The company thinks she has a lot of potential in her to become a leader for the women’s division, even though her wrestling skills are bad but she has been improving a lot since she debuted in the company.
The company may have high hopes for her but the fans have another idea, she is hated by a lot of wrestling fans which makes her a great heel. For the past few weeks since being drafted to SmackDown Live during the WWE draft, Marie has been hyped to make her debut on the roster only to be delayed by things like pulled hamstrings, wardrobe malfunction, and the latest one being stuck in traffic. The fans hate it, but it is making her a great heel which is what she is since she is not liked by the fans at all.
On the WWE side of things, this is really bad timing that this happens just 3 days before SummerSlam. Before getting suspended, Marie was planned to get a huge push maybe becoming the first ever SmackDown Live Women’s champion when the title debuts. But now with her being suspended for 30 days, the company has to change directions with this storyline.
Sure Marie could still get her heel push when she comes back since it is her first violation, but expect her to be in the dog house with the company for the time being.
On the Marie side of things, this suspension could not come at a worse time since SummerSlam is just three day’s away. Marie was hyped up to make her debut at Slam but now she can’t which really damages her heel push right now. With her now suspended, Marie will now have time to think about what she has done and makes sure that she corrects the mistake and does not do it ever again.
There are a few ways that the WWE could look at the six women’s tag team match at SummerSlam. The first thing the company could do is find a partner for Natalya and Alexia Bliss, but the problem with this is that there is no one on the SmackDown Women’s roster that can replace her currently since they are all in the match. Unless you count Maryse who is a valet to her real life and on screen husband The Miz.
So with that in mind, the company could call up one of the NXT Divas, but there is nobody on that roster that you can call up to the main roster besides Bayley but Natalya and Bliss are both heels so putting Bayley on the heel would never work.
The company could also use Nia Jax as the mystery partner since she is a heel, but the problem with that is the tag match is supposed to hype up a potential SmackDown women’s title and since Jax is on Raw that would not be smart.
Another thing to keep in mind here is that Nikki Bella has been training for her in-ring return at the moment, the company doctors already cleared her for in-ring action. The company could slot her right into the match with no problem.
The other thing that the company could do is keep the match the way it is right now and let it be a 3 on 2 handicap match, which is really likely with the timing of this news.
The last thing the company could do about this mess is the worst option out of three, and that is get rid the whole matchup completely and not have it at the show at all. If this is the case, the rest of the SmackDown diva locker room will be wasted since they all have no matches at the show.
