After a 10-17-5 start of the season for the New Jersey Devils despite trading for PK Subban in the offseason, the team looks like they are heading towards a rebuild. One player that is being talked in trade rumors is Taylor Hall. On Monday, New Jersey pulled the trigger sending Hall and Blake Speers to the Arizona Coyotes for Kevin Bahl, Nick Merkley, Nate Schnarr and a third round pick in 2021. .
Since acquiring Taylor Hall from the Edmonton Oilers for Adam Larsson, Hall has been nothing but effective in New Jersey giving them a dynamic offensive player when healthy. In 30 games played this season, Taylor Hall recorded 6 goals, 19 assists, and a plus-minus of -11. With the team losing, Hall has taken a dip in his production and being a healthy scratch lately does not help.
With Arizona heading towards a playoff run, they needed help offensively, the team is hoping Hall is the guy that can spark some offensive firepower and help improve the team. Arizona will also have to keep in mind that Hall is in the final year of his contract and is expected to hit free agency.
With New Jersey having a 10-17-5 record, trading Hall was the best thing for the future of the team. Getting back Kevin Bahl, Nick Merkley, Nate Schnarr and a third round pick in 2021. should be helpful in the long run during the rebuilding stage.
