During a press conference on Monday, Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith Sr announced that he plans to retire after the 2015 season.

“I feel like it’s time,” said Smith, who used the phrase three times during his announcement after Monday’s training camp practice. “I’m going to retire after this, go home and be a dad and look back and enjoy things.”

Smith will be going into his 15th season in the NFL, spending his first 13 years with the Carolina Panthers. The 36-year old joined Hall of Famer Tim Brown as the only players to reach 13,000 receiving yards as well as 4,000 return yards.

Even as a veteran, Smith has consistently proven himself as a threat to defenses. Ranking 18th in NFL history with receptions (915), Smith plans on playing out the year on a positive note.
