Greek wonderkid Stefanos Tsitsipas is hogging all the limelight, despite losing to World #1 Rafael Nadal in the ATP 1000 Masters final in the Canadian Open. Tsitsipas, who just turned 20 last Sunday, has shown the world that he is one player to watch out for in the near future. He first caught the eyes of fans after a stellar performance at the Barcelona Open (ATP 500) where he beat three top 20 players en-route to his maiden ATP tour final without dropping a set. A few weeks later, he had a solid run at Wimbledon where he reached the fourth round before falling to #10 John Isner.

Tsitsipas had his second breakthrough of the year in the lead up to the US Open. After a run at the Washington Open where he reached the semifinals, and a run at the Canadian Open where he made it the final (his first ATP 100 Masters final), it has been made clear that Stefanos Tsitsipas is the future of tennis. During the tournament, he beat four top 10 players including Dominic Thiem (#8), Novak Djokovic (#10), Alexander Zverev (#3) and Kevin Anderson (#6).

The manner in which Tsitsipas overcame his opponents speaks volumes to his hunger and ability to win matches. Despite these runs in tournaments, Tsitsipas has yet to win a title. Is he a tennis star in the making? Once his first title is secured, this discussion will become a more serious debate.
