Steelers Expected to Sign Veteran Joe Haden

On Wednesday morning, it was announced by the Cleveland Browns that they have elected to cut cornerback veteran Joe Haden. The franchise reportedly attempted to seek out any potential trade offers throughout the week, but felt as though it would be better to move on.
With the release of Haden, multiple suitors have emerged after just hours after the news broke. With that, an early favorite to sign the two-time Pro Bowler happened to be the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Just hours after his release, it was reported by both Ian Rapoport and Aditi Kinkhabwala that Haden and the Steelers are scheduled to meet in Charlotte, North Carolina on Wednesday night. With the Steelers making an early push, a rumored deal has already been released by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Schefter went on record that the Steelers are expected to finalize a three-year, $27 million deal with Haden. Also according to Schefter, Haden has reportedly received bigger offers, but has denied them in order to become part of the Steelers organization.
Within this deal, Haden is expected to receive $7 million during the upcoming campaign. While the numbers are yet to be finalized, this deal is all but done.
Can the Steelers emerge as AFC contenders? With a weapon such as Joe Haden to rely on, this Pittsburgh franchise has become a lot more dangerous than they were before.
