After the recent fixtures in the Champions League, many United fans are convinced that Mauricio Pochettino is the man for the job, as opposed to the current caretaker, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. In reality, abandoning Solskjaer is a mistake, as he should be promoted to full-time manager before the season is over.

United blood runs through him

This is something to consider when choosing between who should be manager. Solskjaer has played and fought for the Manchester United badge. In addition, he learned from one of the greatest of all-time in Sir Alex Ferguson. Solskjaer knows how much it means to play for the team, so perhaps the factor of respect could play a role.

Players Coach

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a players coach. When a player is turned into a coach, it is natural for them to view the player’s perspective. It is clear that Manchester United would respond better to Solskjaer than Jose Mourinho. He has transformed players that have previously looked like a lost cause. Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford have been thriving under new management.

The main reason for that is because Solskjaer gives his players freedom. It is worth noting that there are some players that United fans were ready to push to the curb who are having a great resurgence. This can be seen in talents such as Ander Herrera and Victor Lindelof.

Results

If someone is going to be Manchester United manager, it needs to be someone capable of producing results. Across all competitions, Solskjaer has totaled 9 wins, 1 draw, and 1 loss. This is exceptional form compared to where the team was previously. He has already amassed the amount of Premier League wins that Mourinho accomplished and in half as many games. This form has seen United rise from 6th on the table to 4th.

Based on the small sample size, some United fans are calling for another candidate in Pochettino. While Pochettino has done well as Tottenham Hotspurs manager, does that mean it will translate to United?

Calm Presence

Based on pitch presence and various press conferences, Solskjaer understands the aspect of maintaining composure. Based on Mourinho’s antics on the field, these are two different approaches to the game. Within press conferences specifically, Solskjaer chooses to remain humble. By praising the players and their success, Solskjaer is gaining favor among the roster.

The composure of Solskjaer can be seen in the preview of the match between Chelsea and Manchester United.

Wait for his signings

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has not made a signing, but his impact has been apparent. Could you imagine what Manchester United could do with signings of his own?

The lack of depth on the roster has spoken volumes. However, a few signings could push United in the right direction. We have no idea who Solskjaer would target, but it’s exciting to think about.
