Skins Sign Linebacker Junior Galette
As the NFL offseason has been full of big signings, the Washington Redskins decided to add a piece of their own as they signed Junior Galette, the former linebacker from the New Orleans Saints.
Galette was released by the Saints less than a week ago, but now finds himself playing for the Skins on a one-year deal. NFL Media’s Albert Breer reported that Galette has signed for the veteran minimum, making him a bargain for the Redskins. The Redskins also will be available to match any offers Galette receives next year during free agency, making it one of the best possible scenarios for the team.
Galette is still rich, so don’t worry. The linebacker was able to squeeze $18 million over the past 10 months from the Saints. Joining a roster that struggled significantly last year, Galette may find himself in a leadership role right off the bat. Galette was able to rack up 22 sacks over the last two seasons in the NFL, making himself known as a threat to the quarterback.
