After a unanimous decision victory over Michelle Waterson on Saturday, Joanna Jedrzejczyk could be next in line to compete for a Strawweight title fight against Weili Zhang. The five-round bout at UFC Fight Night 161 broke the foot of Jedrzejczyk.
Prior to the win, in Jedrzejczyk’s last five bouts, she suffered three losses. With drama surrounding this fight regarding her making weight, it was unclear whether this fight would take place.
Many can wonder why it should be Jedrzejczyk fighting for a title, but the only other probable opponent for the Polish fighter would be Tatiana Suarez. However, due to an ongoing neck injury, the former champion could now be in the title picture.
With the title going from Rose Namajunas, to Jessica Andrade, to then Weili Zhang, it now adds up to come into a full circle for Jedrzejczyk.
