In a recent interview with NBA superstar and future Hall of Famer Kobe Bryant (produced by NBA Network), he was asked who resembles a younger version of himself in today’s game.

His answer? The Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook.

Drafted out of UCLA in 2008, it’s undeniable that both him and Kobe Bryant are close to impossible to stop when they get the hot hand.

Bryant commented on the “fire” and “passion” that Westbrook has for the game, and his statistics back that up.

Averaging 25.6 PPG and 9.3 APG this season, Westbrook can do just about anything. Kobe Bryant and Russell Westbrook play two different types of basketball, and arguably in two different ages of the game, so how good can Westbrook really become?

Losing to Miami Heat in the 2012 NBA finals (4-1) was the closest Westbrook has come to an NBA championship.

With let’s say 10 solid years under his belt left to go, it would be shocking if Westbrook didn’t snag at least two or three championships by the time his career comes to an end.
