In UFC news, the bout between Luke Rockhold and Chris Weidman at UFC 230 on November 3rd has been cancelled, as Rockhold has been pulled off the card due to a leg injury. Both have been hyping this rematch up for months, but due to the news, only Weidman will remain on the card.

The new scheduled opponent for Weidman will be Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza, who was originally supposed to take on David Branch at the event. Souza is coming off a split-decision loss against Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 224, and this fight against Weidman would put him back in line for a shot at the Middleweight championship.

The last fight for Weidman was against Gastelum, where he defeated him by submission in the third round on July 22nd, 2017. A victory over Souza is what Weidman needs to prove he deserves the next crack at the title after Gastelum takes on Robert Whittaker in the near future.

UFC 230 takes place on November 3rd at Madison Square Garden, where Daniel Cormier makes his first defense as Heavyweight champion against Derrick Lewis in the main event.
