The Rockets and Mavericks did not disappoint NBA fans. The two teams combined for 302 points and they put up 160 points in the first half; the most points in 20 years.
James Harden finished the night with 49 PTS, 9 REB, and 8 AST. His teammate, Russell Westbrook, had 31 PTS, 11 REB, and 8 AST. This duo combined for 81 points; the most points ever as teammates. Notably, James Harden passed Calvin Murphy for second on the Rockets all time scoring list.
The game went into OT because Robert Covington tipped in James Harden’s missed free throw to tie the game up. There was no one boxing out Covington who came across the pain to tip it in on the weak side.
For the Mavs, Luka Doncic had 28 PTS, 13 REB, and 10 AST and Kristaps Porzingis had 39 PTS and 16 REB. Coming off the bench, Trey Burke had 31 PTS and shot 80% from beyond the arc. Burke was a big help for the Mavs to spark some runs on offense.
Rockets play the Bucks on Sunday and the Mavs also play on Sunday against the Suns.
