As of Sunday morning, quarterback Cam Newton agreed to a 5 year, more than 100 million dollar contract with the Carolina Panthers. Cam Newton had 3127 throwing yards with 18 passing touchdowns on 58.5% completion percentage and led the Carolina Panthers to a 7-8-1 record and a divisional playoff appearance this past season.

This contract is through the 2020 season, so Newton looks like he will be the future of this organization for the next multiple years. This could be seen as a risky move as Cam Newton has been up and down since entering the league, and also has a history of injuries, so we will see how this move pays off for the Panthers organization.
