After holding out for a new contract from the Los Angeles Chargers, Melvin Gordon III is looking for a fresh start. On Friday, Stephen Watson reported the Denver Broncos are close to finalizing a deal with Gordon. The deal is for 2 years worth $16 Million.

Prior to last season, Gordon was an underrated running back when healthy, but struggled to remain on the field. He has only played a full season during the 2017 season; a year in which he ran for over 1,000 yards for the first time in his career.

With Gordon finalizing a deal with Denver, Austin Ekeler is expected to become the full-time starter. Prior to free agency, Los Angeles and Ekeler agreed on a four-year, $24.5M extension.
