With the Los Angeles Rams preparing for Sunday night’s Week 1 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys, they will likely do so with wide receiver Cooper Kupp under contract for the long-term future. On Saturday, it was reported that the Rams and Kupp are expected to agree on a lucrative three-year, $48 million extension.
The Rams have been focused on contract negotiations throughout the offseason. On Wednesday, the team granted cornerback Jalen Ramsey a five-year, $105 million extension. He became the first defensive back in NFL history to receive a contract extension worth over $100 million.
Kupp is coming off a career 2019 season in which he totaled 1,161 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns across 94 receptions. He was slated to make a little over $2 million during the 2020 season during a contract year.
