Red Wings-Hurricanes Postponed Game Rescheduled

A game between the Detroit Red Wings and Carolina Hurricanes that was postponed earlier this week has been rescheduled for March 27th. The game was postponed due to a cooling system malfunction that made the ice at PNC Arena unplayable.
These two teams will play on consecutive nights, as the teams are scheduled to play at PNC on the 28th of March. These games could have huge implications when it comes to the NHL Draft, as both teams are out of playoff position and don’t look to be trending upward. The Red Wings have been to the playoffs for 25 consecutive seasons, and are looking to push it to 26.
Normal ice temperature is 18 degrees at game time, however, it was 24 degrees during this postponed game. This was due to a Freon leak in the cooling system. Freon is a cooling agent that is used in many cooling systems, including ice cooling systems. The leak prevented the ice from cooling in time, making the ice surface unplayable.
