Red Sox Trade 2013 Hero Shane Victorino

Victorino was traded along with cash considerations to the Los Angeles Angels for infielder Josh Rutledge. The transition that he is going through is awesome for a man like him who loves winning, due to the fact he is going from the last-place team in the AL East to the first-place team in the AL West.
The Boston Red Sox traded Victorino to the Los Angeles Angels on Monday, and when it came time to say goodbye to The Red Sox, he said a very emotional one. With everything he had been through with the city, it made this farewell extremely tough, due to the 2013 Marathon Bombing attacks.
Although he was phenomenal in 2013, he played a total of only 63 games in 2014 and ’15 due to leg, back and thumb injuries. “The last two years, I take a lot of fault for not being out there, not being healthy,” he said.
During the 2013 season, his walk up song being “Three Little Birds” by Bob Marley shined hope for not only for the team, but for the city. and the hopeful lyrics about how “every little thing is gonna be alright”. In his tearful goodbye, he stated “Think about a song as an athlete, to have a city sing it, that song is something I’ll never forget. When I go to Anaheim, I think I’ll have to change it, out of respect for Red Sox Nation…I hope they never forget that song. I know I’ll never forget that song.”
