After a unanimous decision victory over Anthony Smith at UFC 235, Jon Jones spoke afterwards about the possibility of a move up to the heavyweight division for a fight against Brock Lesnar. The thought of having Jones become a heavyweight can create dream fights, and the possibility of a trilogy fight against Daniel Cormier suddenly comes to mind.

As the Light Heavyweight Champion, Jones has defeated the likes of Rashad Evans, Lyoto Machida, Mauricio Rua, Rampage Jackson, Vitor Belfort, Chael Sonnen, Glover Teixera, Cormier, and most recently, Smith. With 4 out of 9 of those fights going the distance, Jones holds records for the most title defenses (8), Fight of the Night performances (4), and holds the longest win streak in Light Heavyweight division history (13).

If Jones were to move up to the heavyweight division, he would have multiple options on how to move forward. This may include Lesnar or Cormier, but candidates in Stipe Miocic, Francis Ngannou, Junior Dos Santos, Derrick Lewis, Alistair Overeem and Cain Velasquez are possible as well.  With a victorious outcome, Jones would add to his legacy as one of the greatest to enter the octagon.

Jones is only31-years old and has swept the entire Light Heavyweight division. The only fight that seems sensible at the moment is with Thiago Santos, but if you were to remove Santos from the conversation, it gives Jones the right to move up and see if he could do it all over again at Heavyweight.
