Pistons GM Jeff Bower gets Extension

The Detroit Pistons have reportedly given General Manager Jeff Bower a multi-year extension. Bower was entering the last of his three year deal, according to The Vertical.
Bower has worked under president and coach Stan Van Gundy and has made some key moves that helped the Pistons reach the playoffs for the first time in seven years, including trading for Reggie Jackson and Tobias Harris. Bower was GM of the New Orleans Hornets from 2001-03 and 2005-10. He coached briefly at Marist College before joining the Pistons.
This is a well deserved extension. Bower has implemented a core group with Harris, Jackson, and Stanley Johnson. He also has Andre Drummond to keep in Detroit, which shouldn’t be hard, and he has an emerging shooting guard in Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. Although he did not bring in Drummond or KCP, he has brought in the pieces to build around them. The Pistons want to continue to make the playoffs, and believe extending Bower is the first step in the right direction.
