Philip Rivers Signing With Indianapolis

After spending the last 16 with the Chargers 13 of them in San Diego and 3 of them in Los Angeles, quarterback Philip Rivers is looking for a fresh start in a new city after the team announced they would not bring him back and he did not have to wait long to find a new team. On Tuesday, the Indianapolis Colts signed Rivers to a one-year deal worth $25 million.

In 228 games with the Chargers, Rivers threw for 59,271 yards, 397 touchdowns, 198 interceptions, completing 4,908 passes with a passer rating of 95.1. While with the Chargers, Rivers has gone down as the best quarterbacks in franchise history despite never bringing the team to the Super Bowl. Rivers also holds the records for most passing yards, touchdowns, and wins in franchise history.

Although Rivers is going to be 38 when the season starts, he still has a lot to prove as he can still be a productive quarterback and bounce back from a disappointing season despite his age. Indianapolis is hoping the gamble on Rivers is worth the money and is the missing piece in turning them to a playoff team.
